Endovastec™ recently announced the first two commercial uses of its Minos™ Abdominal Aortic Stent Graft and Delivery System (Minos™) in the Netherlands.

The procedures were performed at the same time by Prof. Joost Van Herwaarden, Dr. M. Teraa and their team at Utrecht Medical Center and by Dr. T.P. Menting and his team at Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST) in Enschede.

Both patients were diagnosed with infrarenal Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) with complicated accesses, hence the choice for an ultra-low profile abdominal device.

Based on preoperative imaging and measurements, the experienced clinical teams chose the ideal combination of components to provide the best treatment to the patients.

Following the procedure, Prof. Van Herwaarden highlighted the precision and the ease of use of the device, the accurate deployment mechanism, and the intuitive steps.

Dr. Menting emphasized the importance of having an ultra-low profile system available for patients with complex access anatomy, noting that innovative products like Minos™ are pushing the boundaries and may help redefine the criteria for endovascular treatment, expanding the population of treatable patients.

This milestone marks the first Minos™ implantations in the Netherlands, further establishing the system’s role in advancing endovascular treatment for complex AAA patients.

Minos™ Abdominal Aortic Stent Graft and Delivery System represents a new era in endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). Developed by Endovastec™, this innovative system combines precision engineering with clinically driven design to deliver exceptional outcomes, even in challenging anatomies.

With a delivery system outer diameter of only 14F, Minos™ sets a new benchmark for minimally invasive access. This ultra-low profile expands patient eligibility, reduces trauma to access vessels, and facilitates smoother procedures.

At the core of Minos™ is its tri-modular stent  graft architecture, engineered for unparalleled versatility. This design allows tailored in situ assembly, extending repair across common iliac artery involvement with ease.

Key innovative features include:

·         Proximal multi-mini spring system – optimizing seal integrity and minimizing endoleak potential

·         Helical limb stent design – enhancing flexibility, reducing kinking, and ensuring continuous blood flow

·         Seamless multifilament graft – ensuring strength, durability, and resistance to fatigue

·         Leave-behind sheath on all components to minimize access complications

Minos™ is CE marked in Europe under Medical Device Regulation (MDR). It has been introduced into clinical applications in around 30 countries worldwide.
